Pelton is about two miles from

Chester Le Street
and about four miles from Stanley

It's not to be confused with West Pelton
or Pelton Fell

This busy village used to have the main road between Stanley and Chester Le Street running through the centre, it's now bypassed.

Pelton has a few pubs and shops, a doctors surgery, a library and a CO-OP
A new replacement school has been built.
