James Bolam was born 16th June, 1938 in Sunderland.

He was Terry Collier in the BBC sitcom 'The Likely Lads', then patient Roy Figgis in 'Only When I Laugh' - a sitcom based in a hospital.

Other television programmes include 'The Beiderbecke Affair'
and 'When The Boat Comes In'.
