Darlington

 

Darlington is a large busy town in North East England, in the Tees Valley, North East England.

It's situated close to the A1(M), Durham Tees Valley Airport is about 6 miles from the town centre and Darlington is only 22 miles away from Tees Port. By train, London is just over 2 hours away on the East Coast Main Line.


David Mach's Train is a brick built copy of the 1938 locomotive, Mallard. It stands beside the A66 and was designed by artist and sculptor David Mach. It's constructed of 185,000 local Accrington Nori bricks, 60 metres long and 6 metres high. The work commemorates Darlington's railway heritage - The Stockton & Darlington Railroad was opened on 27th September, 1825
