Stocksfield is a pleasant village on the south side of the River Tyne in Northumberland, It's about 15 miles west of Newcastle
Upon Tyne.

Thomas Bewick artist, wood engraver and naturalist was born here in 1753. The 19th century farmhouse, which was the latter home of the Bewick family, features an exhibition of Bewick's life and his work.
