Farne Islands

Just off the coast, North East England Bamburgh

The islands are home to many different species including: puffins, eider ducks, 4 species of Tern, kittiwakes, guillemots, shags, razorbills and a large colony of seals. The birds are well used to visitors who are advised to wear a hat when visiting Inner Farne!. A chapel was built in memory of Saint Cuthbert who died on Inner Farne in 687. Boats trips leave from Seahouses harbour, tickets can be bought from the quayside. Boat tickets do not usually include admission to the islands, this is paid on landing.
