Ashington-Northumberland

Ashington in North East England is situated about 15 miles north of Newcastle, has a busy town centre and is a former coal mining town.   It's Probably best known for coal and football legends.

Footballer John 'Jack' Charlton OBE was born in Ashington on May 8th, 1935, his brother Sir Robert "Bobby" Charlton, CBE was also born in Ashington on 11th October 1937.
Their uncle, Jackie Milburn, famously known as Wor Jackie was also born in the town.
